Hello and welcome to Hetti Smith, I'm so glad you are here.

 My name is Heather Smith and I am a nurse and a mum of two boys who loves to sew.

I first started sewing in 2003 after being introduced to the hobby in my high school home economics class. However,  it took my husband buying me my own sewing machine for Christmas in 2013 for me to really find a passion for sewing. My business name is a combination of these two elements that brought sewing into my life, my nickname from High school 'Hetti' and my married name.

 One of the first things I made when I got my sewing machine were little plush owl toys. I drafted the pattern for the owl toy myself and loved making them as gifts for children. It is from this original owl toy design that I based the Hetti Smith logo. The owl is a symbol that reminds me where I started and how far I’ve come.

 After becoming a mum I found a love for making baby and children’s clothing and it wasn’t long before I added this range to my shop. I love nothing more than dressing my boys in handmade outfits.

 I started making scrub tops in 2020 which became really popular among my nursing and other health care colleagues.

 Hetti Smith garments are handmade by me. I take a lot of pride in producing a quality product and I am excited to be able to share my passion for sewing with you.
